So i have a question my husband youngest brother wants to go visit his brother who got arrested last week on Friday he recently just got court. And he wants to go visit him? But idk if he has to schedule an appt or can he just go like that? This a first time thing for us and we don't know much. If anyone does thanks.

Majority of prisons are visitation orders only and you can't just turn up. I would call the prison and enquire about their specific visiting requirements. Also your not allowed to carry certain things on you or they are confiscated and you do get high security check so check whats allowed and what isn't.

I used to visit my foster son in prison and he was the only one who could schedule his own personal visits.

Call the jail he is at and maybe ask them. There are usually scheduled visits or certain times of visitation. Certain jails even let you Facetime your loved one in jail for a certain fee you can do it either at home or there's a place you can go to where there are computer screens and phones.

If it's Jail...it's been ten years for me since visiting someone but they had specific times you could visit. You still need to call and find out those times. And when you get there you just signed something and saying who you're visiting. Really wasn't a big deal.

Call down there and see what their rules are and when visiting hours are. Most likely you will have to set up an appointment. Will need a current ID. Things like that. Could possibly look it up online also. I know the jail I worked at had all the information online along with the number for scheduling appointments.
