trans* and prison
In April of this year, a transgender women was said to be raped 2,000 times in an all-male prison, and experienced physical violence and abuse. She stated that she'd rather die than go to prison. I believe this happened in Australia?
I'm not sure if I read it correctly, but it was said that they didn't put her in an all-women's prison since they believed that she would rape the women? Or possibly they did it since they believed you should go to the prison assigned to the sex you were at birth.
What are your opinions about this? Should they have let her in the all-women's prison, or should she have gone to the all-men prison? The article lead me to other questions though, like which prison would someone who is bigender or agender go to?
