electric breast pump? necessary?

First time momma, and I was wondering if an electric breast pump is worth the money. My insurance does not cover so it would be out of pocket. Please let me know what y'all think!

You're not going to want a Manual one that's for sure... But whatever fits your budget. You should look into getting Medicade. I'm getting a medela electric double breast pump kit with it. I thought it was a law for all insurances to cover breast pumps.. Guess not

I bought the manual breast pump from philips avent. I've been told that electric pumps hurt cause the suction is too strong

If you're just pumping the occasional bottle, a manual is fine. If you are going back to work when the baby is tiny and you want to breastfeed, an electric is a must (in my opinion), ideally double to save you time. See if you can rent one and see how things go.
