Name drama

Need some input on a situation I am in. My husband and I have a name we love picked out for a son, the name just so happens to be his sister's ex boyfriend who was murdered's nickname, NOT REAL NAME, anyways we mentioned it last pregnany and she thinks it's a terrible idea because it's bad luck or whatever in her eyes. I really want to use it if I have a son and I don't see the big deal because my kid has nothing to do with the guy and this happened 15+ years ago. Am I in the wrong for choosing the name or do you all think it's fine to use it?
