hip pain, any suggestions? please read.

Question

Wondering is there any other November mommies having hip pain ? I was just in the hospital a week ago for it , even up having contractions and having to stay over night. Getting a bunch of blood work, swabs, an ultrasounds done. An now the pain is back. Last time it started up back they said I went into preterm labor. Anyone else having some sort of hip pain ? Or have any ideas on what I should do to help the pain. Trying to avoid going to hospital unless needed. By the way I'm 37 weeks today .

Lots of hip pain that has started a few months ago! It feels like the head of the femur is just digging into the hip socket! I had to get a tempurpedic mattress pad to add some extra cushioning. That seems to help! Also, try sleeping with a pillow between the legs and another supporting the upper body to try to take pressure off the joints. And soaking in the bath definitely seems to help!

I had hip pain on my 37th week too! I went to my chiropractor and she gave me a massage and helped me to stretch. She said it es due to the child's position (getting lower everyday) and hip opening. I found this picture of the stretching, I hope it helps!!

Ugh yes, unfortunately that's your body expanding and getting ready for labor. Sleeping is almost impossible

Take some Tylenol and drink plenty of water laying on your left side. Try a birthing ball or bouncing on the edge of your bed.

I have this too... it's horrible and I've not found anything to help. Sorry! Can't remember the last time I slept more than 2 hours in a row.

I've been telling my doctor about my hip pain . And last Thursday he checked me at 35 weeks and told me I'm not dilated but he can feel the baby's head . I'm having lower back pain , hip pain , and bad cramps . I go back this coming Thursday to be checked again . I'm due November 29th really don't see lasting that long.

I have a gym ball that I use to stretch out my hips. I wish I had invested in it much earlier on and it would have saved me a lot of trouble. It's not going to cure it, but it definitely did help with reducing the amount of pain I had. I use it before bed for at least 30 minutes and an hour during the day (sometimes broken up in 15min increments).
