Best IUD?

I have an appointment to get birth control in about 2 weeks. I read there's the Mirena,Skyla and Paraguard. Which one is the best? Has anyone used them? Can you tell me your experience? I'd love to hear different stories about it.

I've had the paraguard and the mirena. I had the paraguard in for about a year. I hated it because it made me spot, a lot. There was no point in having it because I rarely would have sex because of all the spotting. So I got that out and tried the mirena and loved it. My periods stopped altogether after a few months and it was amazing. I never had any problems with it. I only took it out because we are ttc #2. I hate having periods again. 😑

I have he Mirena IUD. I've had it since I was 16 and I'm 20 now, so I'll be needing to get it removed soon. It hurt when it was implanted, but the pain lasted just a minute or so and was definitely tolerable. I bled for a few weeks after, mostly light/medium spotting, but then my periods stopped altogether. I didn't have any weight gain, no issues with acne or mood changes. My husband says he can feel it occasionally during sex but that it's not uncomfortable and he's normally focused on other things anyway. Ive had two cysts since I had the IUD, both on my right ovary, both needing surgery to remove. The first was only found by ultrasound and though I did have surgery to remove it, it had already resolved itself by the time my surgery date arrived so they just opened me and closed me back up. The second cyst causes really bad back and abdominal pains and I ended up having it removed in an emergency surgery. If I have another one, I'll have to switch to another form of birth control. Cysts happen with IUDs but most of them go unnoticed and go away on their own. I really wouldn't let that alone discourage you, because I am still so thankful for my IUD and I'll likely be getting another one out in next year.

I had the mirena because I had a controlling boyfriend who would try to get me pregnant and I hated it it hurt so bad and I had to be rushed to the hospital to get it removed it's different for everyone a lot of people love it but for me it didn't work.

I had Skyla for less than a year. I got it bc I've never had kids so my uterus is smaller and that's what the skyla is made for. But I hate that piece of shit. First the placement hurt like a bitch, which I expected. They said take some Tylenol and cramping will go away in a couple days. But I never stopped cramping with that thing, ever. And I mean it was the worst feeling in the world like my body was rejecting it but my doctor wouldn't listen so I ended up watching a video on how to take it out, and I did it myself. Life has been so much more pleasant lol. I was in constant pain with it, everyone is different but I still don't recommend IUDs. And my SO could feel the wires when we would have sex, they felt like fishing wire so uncomfortable.
