Nursing Nonstop?

Question

Has anyone's newborn tried to nurse almost non-stop? Mine will fall asleep, overeat, spitup, then immediately want to nurse again...I've tried stopping him early and offering a pacifier instead even. I've talked with my nurse about it, too. He's literally been nursing on/off for the past couple of hours and I have to watch him closely or he'll eat too much and spit it back up. He's also a terrible burper (I can at most get 2 good burps out of him in a 30 min period).

I swear to goodness I probably nursed my 12 day old daughter 20 times yesterday. She doesn't spit up though... probably just on her way to being a chunker like her mama!

Babies tend to cluster feed a lot and that sounds like what your baby is doing. Probably nothing wrong with it just baby being baby

My son nursed and still does nurse almost non stop.. he's big and the hospital warned me he would eat often because he's So big. 
But I would keep an eye out for reflux symptoms. They like to constantly eat because the liquid cools their throats and stops the burn.. I only say this because you say he's spitting up so much. My son has spit up a handful of times but not every time he eats.. some is normal excessive can be for some kids but can be from other problems

When I notice my LO no longer is doing the suck-swallow pattern then I know he is just hanging out on the breast. When is your LO doing this pattern mostly? Right when she latches and it's pretty intense for a couple min then maybe your milk is coming in real fast. My LO does suck-swallow for a couple min about a min into breastfeeding then takes a break and just sucking then notice he goes for another min of suck-swallow. I would say once she is just sucking for a couple min without swallowing I would remove her. I would remove her earlier anyways and burp her due to spit up but especially after she has 2 suck-swallow sessions (hope that makes sense, you can tell when they are swallowing right after sucking, I can hear it) 
Then change her between to get some energie out is what the midwife told us then maybe in your case try same breast so that it's not a heavy flow for her again if milk comes in fast or switch breasts. 
Maybe pump or hand expession to get a feel for your milk flow? Alsp amount too. It helped me to understand that it takes a min for mine to come in once my LO is sucking then it's strong flow for a couple min.

How old is your baby? Usually their first growth spurt is 9 days-2weeks old and they will eat more then. Also your baby sounds like a great burpee! Breastfed babies don't get as much air if they latch right.. My baby only burps maybe 3 times a day

At first that's what baby does mine when we got home from the hospital it's like every hour now he's one month old every 2 to 3 hours and im just like😩😩😩
