Rice cereal question

Hey everyone. I started my 3 month old son on rice cereal today, he only had two feeds and ate about 6 ounces. He is on it due to reflux. Well a few hours after eating it he threw or spit up all over the the front of his bib and onsie my question is, did anyone else have this issue with rice cereal? Any help is amazing. Thank you!

Just fed him without rice cereal and he still spit up a lot. I am just confused now. He use to never spit up like this.
