Does coughing affect temp?

I am 6dpo. Woke as usual to take temp but started coughing temp was 98.02 lower than all previous. Went back to sleep, slept four hours took temp it was 98.42 close to previous temps but taken at a later time. What temp to I go by? Does coughing affect temp? Not sick just allergies.

What temp is closer to your normal waking time?

Answer

You should be taking it at the same time every day. There's a calculator to adjust your temp for the time but it's not 100% accurate. Coughing in itself shouldn't change the temp but being sick can.
