just got diagnosed with pcos..

I just went to my first infertility appointment and got an ultrasound...my right ovary was super big and engorged with cysts. The left also had cysts but was normal sized. Im so scared and upset. We just want a baby so bad. In 2012 i was diagnosed with cervical cancer but its been 5 years since and every pap has been normal. It just feels like one thing after another. I need advice..my doc put me on metraformin, its suppose to help with my cysts...has anyone else been on that? And has it helped?
