How do you feel about full body scanners while pregnant?

...at airports? I had a short international flight recently & of all people, I got chosen at 23 weeks for the scanner. Meanwhile my fiancé casually strolled past.
 
I felt very upset and worried, and couldn't help involuntarily tearing up. No amount of saying "it's perfectly safe" by the baby-faced security dude helped reassure me. He ended up waving me through.
 
I wondered how other ladies felt about it?

Pregnant or not, you DO NOT have to let them scan you, you can opt for a pat down.

For all the times I fly for work - probably close to 20-30 security screenings total in this pregnancy.. I requested pat downs for 98% of them. I've had max 3 walk throughs on scanners and they were later in pregnancy. (26 weeks+) Pat downs are completely fine to ask for, it's your right. Just make sure you have extra time - I've had to wait a few times longer than 10 minutes for them to find a female available to do it. Otherwise fairly quick.

i work security at the airport and i work on the body scanner all the time. im 23 weeks + 3days and me and my baby are both healthy. I feel its ok but If anything you can always ask for a pat down instead.

I went through about 4 times during 2nd trimester. Didn't bother me at all. I know we worry about our babies, but I think sometimes we need to relax. Worrying often does more harm than the thing itself.

I have gone through multiple times. It's an extremely low amount of radiation you are exposed to. Not enough to affect baby. We are actually exposed to small amounts of radiation naturally throughout our day to day lives as well. Don't stress about it mama. It's perfectly fine and your baby is hurt at all. Next time though you can refuse the scanner and ask for a pat down instead. They cannot force you to use the scanner.

I've gone through the scanner a handful of times so far. The level of radiation is so low I'm not worried about it
