Should I call the doc
I am one week PP... and my doctor assured me that I would be feeling pain free fairly quickly. She gave me a prescription for hydrocodone 5mg and ibuprofen 600mg.
I take the ibuprofen every 6 hours and the hc I only had 12 of (so approx 2 per day). I was splitting them in half and taking them only when It was super bad. I assumed by a week that the major pain would be over. I had a very small episiotomy but the swelling is gone and it doesn't hurt that bad.
My pain is under my belly button on the sides, feels like very bad cramping (it kind of feels like that terrible round ligament pain). I'm to the point I am bent over half the day trying to walk around.
I'm not over doing it either. Me and baby spend the majority of time resting in bed. I get up every hour to walk the house for 15 minutes and then up sporadically to change diapers or pump. I'm not lifting anything heavy or doing crazy stuff.
Should I call my doctor to discuss my pain levels? I only have one half of the hc left, but have plenty of ibuprofen. Should I ask her for more or should I be getting better in the next few days where I wouldn't need them anyway?
I only posted this anon because I don't want any judgement over feeling like I need more pain medication.
Yes, I had a vaginal delivery. The only intervention was the episiotomy (which feels pretty healed some days are worse than others). I did have issues with my uterus after birth (it was hemorrhaging) and didn't know if that would affect my healing process.
