Epidural Experience 😳
Just wanted to write this in case anyone is on the fence. When I went into labor last week things were taking forever. I was only 1 cm when I went in but was contracting every 5 mins or so. They admitted me at 2 cm and was told I could get the epidural whenever I wanted by my doctor because my contractions were so intense. Now even though he said this, I had a nurse who constantly told me it's too early and I would regret it because it would wear off in time to push, that it would slow my labor down even more, that I needed to feel the pressure to push, blah blah blah. So I stuck it out a full 10 hours because she literally bullied me until I was 4 cm and I just couldn't take it anymore. I was contracting every 3 mins and they were easily a 9 on the pain scale. As soon as I got that epidural LET ME TELL YOU things flew! I went from 4 to 10 in 4 hours and pushed for 10 MINUTES! I'm a FTM by the way. Apparently sometimes the epidural can help relax your body so your contractions can actually be more productive. Just my experience but this might help someone! Here's my little babe...
