should I call the cops??

Question

My neighbor recently installed a camera on the side of his house on the second floor, my apartment is also on the second floor.

It's one of those night vision cameras so you can see the red ring around it at night time, I know it's a functioning camera. What I recently found out is that it's pointed directly at my apartment windows.

I have curtains and blinds, but I really like the sunlight so I open them up during the day ( ps I went and got those heavy black out curtains because I feared he could see through the last pair I had ).

I'm a little upset that he can record what I'm doing inside my apartment without my permission. I just recently found out that this was installed ( noticed it one day ). I was extremely upset because I used to just open the curtains without a thought that someone is watching.

It's an old man that is my neighbor and he's made sexual advances before that I've ignored and he's also friends with y landlord. Long story short do I have to suck it up or can I get him in trouble ?

Either call them n ask to be annonamous or do what i would do and go and ask him to see directly where the camera is pointed as you have the right to know whether or not youre being perved at 🙄 some men are just 👎🏼

It is against the law to record someone without their permission. Also, if he's made sexual advances to you before that's just another reason to go to the police. They can make him take it down and if the cop chooses they can charge him with invasion of privacy

Okay I will then. At first I thought I was overreacting about it. He didn't even notify me that the camera was being put up at all. and I'll admit despite the camera being up I do open my curtains during the day in my living room and bedroom, sometimes I forget to close them and at night I'm sure he can still see through the blinds in places because it's dark outside and light inside my apartment. He's In his upper 50's and I'm a 21 year old female.
