what a mess

I met this guy over social media and we exchanged numbers. We text everyday. I recently got out of a relationship and so did he. The girl he was with told him she was in need of a break because her guy friend died and she will be okay in a year. He said to me that even though he loves her,he's gonna try to move on and he sees it as a break up not a break. I actually caught feelings for this guy and I have no idea what I should do. Any advice?
