Are "accidental" pregnancies real? I know that sounds bad...but how does an oops even happen? ??

Ok. So I don't take BC and I've never gotten pregnant. Mostly because I pay attention to my cycle days and know when it is safe or not. Bla Bla Bla. But I have known quite a few women to get pregnant from one night stands... How does that happen? Like i know how sex works...but I have a hard time believing you get accidentally pregnant....I am older and have been having sex for a time now and never had I had an oops. I've honestly wondered if women are secretly trying to conceive or entrap a man? I have only had one person confess that their "accidental" pregnancy was on purpose....

Well most women don't honestly know what there cycle is like. Like for me example. I knew we ovulated and had periods and such. But until I actually started trying I didn't know when I ovulated, or that sperm could survive so long inside of me. Honesty I thought that as long as I had sex a week after my period and a week before my period I would not get pregnant. I also thought drinking vinegar after wards would prevent pregnancy. So it was a shocker when I got knocked up. So imagine the young ladies and women who don't even know half of what I semi knew before trying to conceive. Or the women who have irregular periods and was with a guy for years but never got pregnant. They like many women would have sex and think nothing of it and get pregnant. And it would honestly be an oops. Now there are women who say oops out loud but in their heads think "sike". I got ya. But not all of them are being tricksters.

No such thing as unplanned. (First of all, I believe our life is in Gods hands, so every baby is planned by HI'm) but  If your having sex, then it is planned, period. Even birth control is 100% effective. Don't want the chance of a baby, don't have a sex. Just my two cents.

I've worked In pregnancy programs and can tell you that not everyone has a regular cycle nor does birth control (condoms, IUD etc) work perfectly. Of course there are unplanned pregnancies

It's happened to me. I got married but was on my period at the time. We waited until after it was over to consummate the marriage. I had no symptoms of ovulation. I had just gotten off of bc because I could no longer afford it. A month later, we found out we were pregnant. It ended in mc.
But now I have symptoms of ovulation. So it hasn't happened in two years.
