got any circumcision tips?

Im a first time mom to a boy (I have a 5 year old girl) and I am SO scared of him getting a circumcision. I hate the idea of him hurting.

Do y'all have any tips or advice? What's the healing process like? Can they feel it? 😭😳 help!

Unless it's medical then there's no reason to do it.

Our son did not even cry and did not seem the least bit bothered when they brought him back to us. The procedure did not take long at all. They told us up to 2 weeks to heal, but he was completely healed by his pediatrician appointment at 1 week old (procedure was the day after his birth - so less than a week to heal). Just load up on the Vaseline! You can't put too much on.

Definitely don't watch. We waited in the other room, as soon as he was done they brought him back and gave me time to comfort nurse. The healing process was super easy. For a week we just covered the whole thing with Vaseline. (You can't add too much!) It wasn't fun but it wasn't horrible. There's no way I could have watched though!!

I had my son two months ago and me and my husband decided that we were going to have him circumcised Andy doctor performed the procedure the next day after he was born. The procedure took about 45 mins and after that he came back into the room with me. We were told just Vaseline or A & D ointment on it every time we changed his pamper. It took about a week to heal.

I hated every second of it and feel sick thinking about it now. My husband almost fainted during the procedure and I cried in the corner. Though, our son didn't make a peep. Doc was super quick and good froze the area gave my son a sugar distraction. What im trying to say is the parents are the worst part lol its been 5 day post procedure and it looks great 👍

I had it done at my house and my husband held him through the process. They definitely can feel it but are given numbing ointment prior to and we gave him Motrin after. The healing process is about a week and is super easy to take care of. You just get gauze and Vaseline and stick it on at every diaper change.

They numb the area I believe, my husband went with my son, he didn't feel a thing, if anything peed on the guy in the end 😂 healed nicely in about ten days, he wasn't any fussier during diaper changes, he was just fine. If you decide to go for it, I say don't panic too much, they get on just fine! Just follow the healing instructions.

Here is something they didn't tell.me to do. As it heals ... like after a week make sure u gently pull the skin away from the head at diaper changes. At his two week appointment dr. had to do it cuz it had started to grow together and then it got all angry red and puffy again. Noone had told me to watch for that .
