Not sure if I'm "ready" for a baby....

My fiancé and I are 21 and 24, we have great jobs and own our home. We live the life of 40 year olds, and everything that we do outside of work we say, "wow this would be so much more fun if we had a kid." The holidays have me thinking and it feels like everyone around me is having babies and I'm not sure if it's just baby fever or if I'm really ready. We are not TTC, but we are also not preventing. I'm just having a hard time with the definition of "ready to have a child." I know it's not really a question, but does anyone have any advice on how to feel? If it's normal I guess?
