Nanny pay?

A friend/neighbor is considering nannying for our daughter 8-4 on weekdays. What's normal when it comes to pay? And would it be risky to pay her under the table or is that typical for something informal like this? TIA!

I was a nanny for 3 girls age 2 4 and 6 before my lo was born. I worked from 7-3 and then came back from 5-7. I made $100 for the first shift and then $40 more to come back. When I watch them less then all day I charged $20 an hour, but we worked out $100 that seemed fair for both of us when I watched them all day.

$100 a day is what I was thinking. I'm not going to expect her to do anything extra like cook/clean and she'll have a lot of freedom (taking baby on her errands, to her house to get things done, etc.) so I think that's fair. Now, since we're super rural and have no local bank, paying in cash may be difficult. 🤔

I'm in IL and nannys typically make $15-20/hour. Under the table is fine

I'm in South Florida and the norm here is 100 bux a day.. friends have paid me 100 bux a day to baby sit and in return now I pay them same.. 100 bux a day sounds a,lot,  but it really isnt...especially when I know my baby will be very well taken care of,loved,  kissed , fed , changed.. and all my must dos and don'ts will be followed.  To me that's worth the hundred bux a day (usually 8 hrs)
