Splurge and regret?

Did you splurge on anything(s) for baby and it just wasn't worth it? Like that kinda expensive stroller blanket or the high end high chair?

I spent almost $500 on a stroller and I don't regret it a second. I do regret getting the cheap one first and learning my lesson.

I bought every new line and every peice from gymboree for my dd from birth to 12 months. I adored it all and spent a crazy amount. When I sat down to get rid of it, I sorted and added it up and was ashamed of myself. I sold it on craigslist for a tenth of retail and gladly went to target and second hands after that. Kids don't care and I don't really want kids who think their value is tied to their appearance. I also bought one of those darling pram strollers and couldn't fit it in my suv without taking the wheels off. They are a pain. This baby has a very simple wardrobe and lots of second hand gear. The only big buys were the car seat (cuz I'm a safety snob) and the crib mattress (cuz naturepedic really is worth it). You live and you learn tho. It's part of life. Enjoy the ride.

Peg perego high chair the prima papa i think. I didnt like it. This was 4 years ago and it cost 350 and i was not a fan. The table part was too far away. It is so big and bulky. It had so many places for food to get stuck in.  There were other issues but yeah i wouldnt get it again...if i got it free id pro ably exchange it. Also we bought a crib set. The bump was put into the trash straight away and the blanket was used on my rocking chair kinda like room decor so useless. Hence i paid ( on sale) 150 for a crib skirt and a sheet and a handing diaper organiser thingy....which crib sheet and skirt could have cost me 30-50$.

All of the expensive personalized boutique outfits I bought for my first. I could clothe my second and third children for months with the money I threw away on outfits that my first just pooped on and stained or were only worn once or they wore and I hated because they were so much trouble. I would stick to simple onesies or sleepers for the most part for a while, except in special occasions! I also dropped about $200 on a swing for my first and not one of my children have liked it, so that was a waste for us specifically.
