Should I ask him to do stuff with me?

So I am in a long distance relationship, my boyfriend is a lot busier then me on a daily basis. I'm sometimes afraid that I'm asking to much of him when I ask him if he wants to Skype or play video games with me since he's so busy and he doesn't have that much time to himself sometimes. I'm not sure if I should just wait till he asks me to do stuff with him or just keep asking him sometimes. Help!
