Breastfeeding and Getting Pregnant

Hello all! I have a 6month old baby and I am still breastfeeding. I have had two periods since I gave birth but they are not consistent. I would like to try to get pregnant again. Do I need to stop breastfeeding? How do I find out if I'm ovulating? Or does it take sometime until I will ovulate again since giving birth and due to breastfeeding?
