3 month old is getting restless.

Ever since my son was a month old he has hated being cradled. He wants to sit straight up in your lap all the time. This doesn't work for me because I'm a stay at home mom and I have things to do around the house. I bought him a playmat in hopes that it would entertain him long enough for me to eat, do dishes, laundry, etc... This worked for a while but recently he has been so restless. If you're holding him he will be supper wiggly and act like he wants to get up and move around. If he could he'd probably get up and run all over the house. The playmat isn't working anymore. I lay him down for about 5 minutes but then he gets bored and fussy. I need some other kind of toy to entertain him while I do the house work. Maybe something he can sit up and move in. Does anyone have any recommendations?
