Head bobbing & weaving during breastfeeding?

My little guy (almost 10 weeks old) has been bobbing & weaving his head & kicking his legs (& refusing to re-latch) mid-way through a nursing session for the last 2 days & this afternoon it got to the point where he couldn't overcome it & couldn't/wouldn't finish his feed, despite the fact that I know he was hungry (he eventually got & drank most of a 4oz bottle of breast milk).

I have a quick/strong letdown, but that doesn't seem to bother him (he doesn't pull off the breast during it & continues to drink for several minutes afterward), so I don't think that's the problem. It always happens after a burping break (he burps fairly well) & I can't figure out what's wrong or how to help him, but it's starting to impede his ability to nurse & that worries me.

Any thoughts about what's going on? Anyone else dealing with similar issues?

My daughter does this because of gas.
She's 3mo and just starting rejecting the side with faster flow, she will only take it If sitting upright.
Burp and change positions. We also block feed to help with gas/over supply

Yesterday I decided to try using our old nipple shield to see if I could get him to re-latch that way & it worked! I was able to pull it after he'd re-latched, but for whatever reason it worked to get him started again when nothing else would. I have no idea why this worked... these kiddos are crazy sometimes!
