reoccurring period?

So my period stopped on Monday but sorta trailed into Tuesday. Like very light spotting. But today all at once I got really bad cramps. And not to be gross, but you know when a lot of discharge comes out of you, and you can sorta feel it? Sorta like a peeing feeling, but not really ? Well I felt that too. So I went to the bathroom after class and I had a really heavy period. Is this normal? Sorry it's never happened before
