Charged for rape?

Question

Let say the state you live in had the age of censent at 17 and a girl gets pregnant below the age of consent. The girl was actively ttc and it wasn't a slip up, and the parents knew their child was actively ttc or actively having sex much less ttc. Should the parents be charged with aiding and abetting a rape? If a parent buys and allows their child to drink in their house they can face charged for that, but should they for underage sex?

This may be a law, and if so let me know, but I've never seen someone charged with it. If you don't think they should be charged, let me know why! I am all for charges myself, but try to talk me out of it!

Stop saying "rape" unless it's ACTUALLY RAPE! Makes me wonder why so many people getaway with it, with all these people crying wolf. So disrespectful to use the term so freely, when women actually do get raped and maybe even murdered. Call things what they are

Do you even understand what rape is? That can only be charge if she was actually raped but considering she was ttc she wasn't raped or age law but she's 17 and legal so that's out of the question too.

Based on other comments my understanding is that both parties are the same age? That's not rape, providing consent was given.

Now if the guy was like 30 the state could potentially pick up charges even against the parents wishes, and potentially charge them too.

There are also charges like negligence, and aiding in corruption of a minor that may fit for the parents.

Pretty sure aiding and abetting a rape is not a thing, but that aside, you need to 1. provide more information and 2. stop trivializing rape.
1. There are "close-in-age" exemptions, so their relationship might be legal.
2. Why would a seventeen year old be trying to conceive?
3. Even if she was, that would not be rape, because she must be giving consent if she is ttc.
This whole scenario just doesn't make any sense!
4. Rape and statutory rape are real and serious issues. Laws and cases are complex. Many women face these issues in their everyday lives because once it happens to you, it is part of you forever. Don't trivialize it!

Ehhh I don't think rape is the ideal charge for the parents. I'd look at it as negligence instead.

If she is TTC with this man then it doesn't seem she was raped. It would be wrong to charge him with rape if he did not actually rape her, and she likely would defend HIM in court if she was trying to have a baby with him.

I really think more details need to be given to get answers.

No. At 17 years old, you are old enough where you know what you are doing is wrong or right. The parents should have been trying to prevent her from ttc (not necessarily from having sex because that's honestly impossible) They should have put her on birth control until she turned 18 to prevent this and had a serious, non confrontational conversation with her on why it's a bad idea. But no, at the end of the day, teenagers will do what they want and at that age, parents don't really have much of a say anymore. Just because they know doesn't necessarily mean they have a way to prevent it.
