Type 1 and pregnancy
Hi!
I'm a type 1 diabetic for almost 4 years.
I have my BG under control since the beginning, it's under 6 as I was actively trying to conceive with less complications.
However, I was at an appointment a few days ago and they said if I had a hypo that the baby's heartbeat would stop and that it would cause death. And that if I had hypers, the baby would have defects and grow large and provably have hypos at birth. That really made me a nervous wreck. I've had a really low reading yesterday and a high one today. It's just too much pressure to try and tightly control it while at the same time imagining all the possible things that could hurt my baby! I've had a miscarriage before and this is my first baby so this is a really hard experience. I just want to enjoy this... Are there any type 1/2 mothers out there who had highs and lows and their baby turned out fine? How can I stop being so nervous the whole time? And if you have any tips I'd highly appreciate it!
