Restarting breastfeeding

My son is 7 months old. When he was 2 weeks old I found out I had pulmonary embolism and was put on blood thinners. I had to immediately stop breastfeeding with no warning. I fell into a depression becuase that's what I longed to do. I've been off the thinners for a month now and I still have colostrum so maybe I could get my milk flow going again? Is it weird that I want to try to start breastfeeding again after it's been so long? I don't even know if he would take to me now.
