Birth control, options and opinions?

I am 17 and have been sexually active for a year now, but am not on birth control. With my 18th birthday coming up next month, I would like to get on birth control so I can stop freaking myself out everytime I have sex 😂 Which contraceptives have the best/ worst side effects and what works best? I am very forgetful and hate taking pills, but am scared of getting the depo shot because my sister gained a TON of water weight! Any comment helps! Please give my your imput!!

Any girl will tell you that the downside of their birth control is that they gain weight. But the reality is, birth control does not make you gain weight. It's the hormones that make it hard to feel hungry/full. So you kinda just keep snacking. You just have to maintain your own diet. Eat when you normally would and stop when you would normally stop. But not all girls are like that. I never gained weight on birth control but I'm pretty aware of my body. Same thing goes for mood swings. If you just remember that you're feeling a certain way because the extra hormones are pulsing through you, you'll feel a lot more sane knowing that you're not seriously crazy lol and then you can get a grip on yourself again and relax :]

Any hormonal based birth control will mess with your emotions. 
The copper IUD is well liked. 
I'd just stick with condoms though.
