Off brand formula???

Question

What do you mamas think about off brand formula? Im not sure how I feel about it yet. Any stories are welcome to help me decide. I used similac total comfort btw

It's perfectly fine. Formula is regulated and off brands are nearly identical to name brand. I used parents choice and Kirkland.

We tried Target's once and it didn't sit well with my baby, made him constipated and spit up a lot more. We kept at it for 2 weeks but no change, so we went back to Similac.

We've used Target brand with our first and we're using Parent's Choice with our second now and they're both great. I talked to their pediatrician and they told me that they're fine, I even checked the ingredients on name brands vs store brands and they're pretty much identical. 
Formula is crazy expensive, why not try to save some money since it's all pretty much the same and as long as your baby does good on it, go for it!

At $13 less per can, I LOVE off-brand formula. :) My baby is healthy and thriving on it. We use the Target Up & Up brand.

Kirkland brand formula or target's up&up brand is the only off brands I'd consider..

I don't even like the brand name ones like Similac or Enfamil, the ingredients are horrible. I order Holle formula from organicmunchkin.com, it has much better ingredients and similar to breastmilk. It mixes easy, doesn't smell, and doesn't foam up, no bad ingredients. Hipp and Lebenswert are also great formulas from the same site.

Based on the research I did they have to meet certain guidelines to be approved by the FDA so they virtually have the same ingredients. And they save you so much $ I use the cvs brand and it's $15 less than the brand name

I use sams club one called Members Mark Advantage works great for my son its 3lb for $22 which is a great deal too

So, if you look it up, the 'off brands' at stores are almost all produced by the same company, called PBM. They are all nutritionally exactly the same. There are some minute differences between the store and name brands, but your baby's reaction is based on their body, probably not the formula itself. We use the Parent's Choice Gentle formula, and my daughter has done fantastic. I've used the Up and Up from target, and even the packaging is the same.

I second targets up & up. I've heard good things about parents choice, but never tried it.
