Surprise Birthday Visit

So I have just booked flights to go see my freind in may for her 18th birthday ! I need advise as to how I turn up and surprise her like should I get her partner to set up a dinner or something but I want to do something super cool thing is we are getting in at 11.30pm and staying at their house !
