how much should I be pumping?

My baby is a week old...how much milk should I be producing at this time? I can currently get 3-4 oz each session in total.

I was getting 3-4 on each side at a week old but everyone says im a milk cow so i think i produce more than most.

Sounds good! At the beginning when my milk was coming in I could get 3 oz in about 5 mins from each boob, I was nursing and pumping so much my boobs were over producing. At one point one morning I pumped 18 oz! It was so freaking crazy.

Anyway, I now am able to pump about 4 oz a breast sometimes 5 if I go a longerway. Just be careful pumping so much in the beginning. You tend to trick your body a lot and then you can get engorged and leak a lot.

Lol sounds like you're blessed. I wasn't anle to get 4oz until week five.

If you breastfeed as well that is a good amount! In my opinion at least.
