Should there be a paternity leave?

Question

So there have been arguments going on that there should also be paternity leave since they believe a father should also be able to bond with his child like a mother can, but other people think differently about it bc they believe at least that someone should be working to support the child or that a father/child bond isn't as important as a mother/child bond. 
Now these are not all the reasons why people are for and against it, but just a few that I've heard. Just wanted to hear some women's opinions and explanations on why

Definitely. Why should the father miss out on spending time with their child? It also helps everyone get more things done and get some needed sleep. 
My husband is in the army and only gets 14 days. I don't think that's enough so he's going to save up leave days once I'm pregnant to spend more time with us.

My bf works for Costco wearhouse here in cali and he gets 3 month's paid leave!! He has to use it before their 1st birthday or he loses it. With my son he took 1 month off and with our daughter 2 weeks because he needed to work. He took the rest off his time with our son during tax time and this time he is gonna use the rest again during tax time so we can go see my mom in may. Its really nicd

I'm lucky enough to work for a company that gives a month of paid paternity (maternity leave is 3 months) leave. I think it's a wonderful thing and every place should have it.

In Australia maternity leave is usually 9-12 months depending on the job and the majority of work places offer 1-2 weeks of paid paternity leave

We have that here 😐 our gym teacher (when I was in highschool) went on paternity leave for 6 months. It is a thing.
