induction for a vbac?

I've always heard that you are not supposed to be induced if you are vbacing. Today at my 38 week appointment the doctor checked me and I'm not dialated at all. I asked what was going to happen if I went over. She said they would wait until 41 weeks and then do an ultrasound to check his size and then induce me at 42 weeks. I do not feel comfortable being induced. I would rather have a csection again. The risk is too high. Esp since we want more kids. Idk ladies I am feeling so defeated today. I know you can go from no dilation at all to full on labor in a day but I can't help but feel so discouraged! I wanted the whole experience. I want to hold him after he's born and you just can't do that with a csection. Wah! I am such a baby 😭

My dr said it's too dangerous to induce after a previous c-section because of risk of uterine tear . So if I go over my due date I have to have another c-section . I'm due Christmas Day so if he isn't here by the 29th then it's a c-section . I'm praying that he will be here before then so I can have a v-bac!

My doctor will do a foley bulb induction for vbac, but not until 41 weeks. Maybe that's what he was talking about? Good luck!

I'm in the same boat - waiting for natural labor to start on its own so I can vbac. My dr said they won't induce though. I was in today for my 39 week appt (39+2) and he felt pretty confident I would still be pregnant on my due date. He was letting me know the days coming up he's out of town and not on call at the hospital, and got all the way to the 26th and I wanted to be like please stop, you're making me sad! I don't wanna go overdue because I'm worried it'll make me consider another c section.

I am hoping to have a VBAC as well. My doctor told me that he will only give me pitocin if I am 41 weeks and already dialated. If I am not dialated, I'll have to get a c section.

I'm not completely clear on this but my doctor said they do have more natural induction methods for VBAC patients. I'm also supposed to be going for a VBAC but it's leaning more toward a second section because my baby is breech and today at my appointment my doctor went through that even with a section we can do skin to skin right in the OR, delayed cord clamping and they can make it as normal and personalized as possible.
