Marijuana while pregnant?

Question

I want opionions on the use of smoking marijuana while pregnant? Can it hurt the baby? I have heard lots of arguments on the topic but I want mommy's opinions I have done it about four times during my pregnancy and I'm stopping but is my baby okay?

Even if your babies will be born healthy, do some of you ladies really think it's right to get them high? If you're high, they're high. Babies can't make decisions for themselves. I think it's absolutely wrong. Pregnancy comes and goes in a snap. You can wait.

Smoking ANYTHING cuts off oxygen to your baby and can cause complications. Dont do it. The women who chose to put their baby in harms way are huge assholes. If you MUST, take edibles. Dont smoke.

I wouldn't smoke it. I think edibles are okay once in awhile. Smoke of any kind isnt good for babies or pregnant women. I have never heard of any babies haven't defects due to marijuana, nor have I seen any research proving that it does. I understand why you asked this. Marijuana is a great stress reliever and organic. If you are really concerned than I wouldn't use marijuana while pregnant. But I don't think it would hurt.

Keep in mind if you admit to using to your doctor and test positive during any of your prenatal urine tests some doctors(depending on where you live) will call a social worker who will visit you in the hospital and possibly open a case with cps to have the baby's environment checked and possibly do some random drug tests on you after birth until you are clean or they are satisfied that the baby is safe and well cared for. Most mothers who have history of drug use are also tested when they first arrive at the hospital when they are in labor and if you test positive they test your baby as well and take it from there. Again it depends on where you live and the legality of marijuana there and wether you have a medical card, but you might want to look into it.

I have friends who smoked during pregnancy and babies are just fine, i quit smoking as soon as i knew im pregnant but this third time i had to smoke one hit every two days for the first nine weeks because i got so sick i couldent eat because of bad nausea, one hit it takes and i would eat the entire fridge lol.
I quit as soon as nauseas ended.

A friend of mine did the entire pregnancy. Her doc actually told her to. It won't hurt the baby. She had a healthy baby boy.

If you're going to do it, which is COMPLETELY your choice, try to use edibles or tinctures instead of smoking. Smoking anything will affect your baby. As far as research goes there's nothing that directly links TCH/CBD to birth defects but is has shown that children who's parents used TCH/CBD are more likely to develop learning disabilities later in life. Again, they can't scientifically link that directly to the use of TCH/CBD, but it is more common in children who's mothers used it. In the end it's up to you and what you feel, I did a lot of research upon finding out I was pregnant and decided it's just too questionable for me to want to continue using it while I'm pregnant. Like I said, it's all up to you, but try to avoid actually smoking 💜

New studies have came out that don't link it to birth defects, preterm labor, or low birth weight. Do I advise doing it everyday? No, but I believe per recent studies that no, it does not affect the baby as previous studies have said it does. You have to think, previous studies never took into account that most of their subjects were also smoking tabacco and drinking alcohol (which are proven to affect babies and cause defects) during this time. Now, it is advised that you don't smoke marijuana, but actually eat it because it is healthier than the chemicals that can come from a lighter and other third party factors.
