we aren't agreeing on names?

Question

My boyfriend is set on naming our son after him and his dad but I never saw myself naming my son Roberto.. I've tried to compramise with him and tell him it could be the middle name and he's just super against it and says I can have the middle name instead but I feel like nothing really fits as a middle name for Roberto? He said he's always seen him naming his kid after him so I guess that's making me come around to the idea, it's just not what I wanted.. any suggestions?

Might be a less popular opinion but I think you should let him name your son. It's really important to him for sentimental reasons and that's more than you just not liking the name. It has meaning to him. I don't either of you should have veto rights since the baby is both of yours but if I saw how much a name meant to my SO I would let him.

Our rule is.... I'm carrying it for 9 months and I'm the one birthing it. I have the final say! DH is a Jr. and his parents were insisting on us having a III... I told the no. It's my body, my baby, and I'll name it. Luckily DH hates being a Jr.! Roberto can be the middle name.

My husband is Charles V, so I'm fighting a losing battle on what we name our future son (IF we even have one, we're in girl #2 now!). I tried getting him to just use Charles as a middle name and we would pick our own first name, or using Charles and we pick our own middle name for him to go by, but he wouldn't budge. So I told him if it really meant that much to him to have a little Charles VI, then we could do that, but we had to come up with a nickname I liked, whether it was a play off his first name, middle name, initials, whatever. If this one had been a boy, he would've been Charles VI and would have gone by the nickname Cade.
