Should I try to open up more?

About 3 months ago I became involved with this guy I met through one of my friends. He's 23 and I'm 20. So far he seems to be a pretty decent guy with the constant facetiming, texting and other cute courting gestures. However, I'm naturally reserved and it's difficult for me to open up especially to guys that I'm dating. At the beginning of us establishing a connection, I told him that we should take this slow because I don't like to rush relationships and it wouldn't be fair if the relationship was one-sided. He's told me that he has feelings for me and calls me "bae" and he's also told me he loves me which threw me off a little. I do like him but I haven't grown enough in my feelings for him to say back what he says to me. He's told his father about me and he also wants to bring my present on Christmas day to my family's house and I'm not ready for the possibility of him meeting my family because it's too soon and we're not even officially together.
