Can your doctor strip your membranes without telling you ? Today I had 40 week appointment I talked to doctor last week about induction and she knows how badly I want to deliver asap well today she checked my cervix but this time it felt different like she was digging in there I felt a pain squirmed and made a noise she said sorry but didn't think anything of it till I got home and now I'm feeling super crampy and I figured it's from her probing my cervix and made me wonder did she try to stir things up in there to help me along and not tell me?

I had my appt today and my check was so painful! Never hurt like that before. Now I'm bleeding and had so many cramps! I feel you on that!

If baby's head is low and blocking the cervix, it can make a cervix check even more painful than normal

I think my doctor stripped my membranes without telling me! I didn't think they could do that but I'm almost 100% sure that's what he did. I had strong contractions for 2 days following that but they trailed off eventually

Are you dilated at all? My doctor checked me at 40 weeks and it hurt like hell and I even bled for a bit and was cramping the rest of the day and part of the next but it was because my cervix hasn't dilated at all, so he really had to try to get in there... maybe that's what happened? Because realistically, they cannot perform any procedure on you unless you give concent and are fully aware of what is being done to you.
