He cheated on me and we reconnected and talk about life and our relationships and stuff.. Is this a bad idea? Because he broke my heart and on one hand I get to vent and say everything I never got to say and on the other he doesn't deserve me listening to him.

The person I lost my virginity too ended up cheating on me. We lost touch for years but ended up reconnecting and being friends. He's a great friend, just wasn't a good boyfriend in highschool. Now they're are no feeling there now so it's easy to be friends. Of course we hold a special place for each other but it's not always a bad idea to be friends...nothing more!!
