Dilation & infection

I haven't been given any aftercare following my 3 failed induction (I am now booked in for a c-section)  ... I was 1cm dilated last time I was checked. They said they don't like to perform many internal examinations because there is a risk of infection ... so, should I be having sex, baths etc, surely that's a risk too but they never mentioned it!
