crying it out :(
Please no judgment (that's also why this is anonymous). I'm not looking for reasons why CIO is or isn't the way to go. I've done tons of research and tried many other ways and this a what my husband and I have come to. We are on night 6 of crying it out. Baby girl is 6 months 1 week. Tonight it took her 34 min of crying/fussing to fall asleep which is nothing compared to some previous nights. Last night was actually only 12 mins but she woke up at 12 am and cried for almost 1.5 hours after I fed her (I made sure when I put her down that she had a dry diaper and was warm enough etc). Is anyone else doing this and having more luck? I just thought by now it'd be less of a struggle. The reason I am doing this now is because she only wants to sleep in bed with us and we just can't do it anymore. She wakes up 5-6 times a night but If she sleeps in her crib, only once or twice like she used to. I tried checking on her every 5-15 min or picking up/put down method and both make her more hysterical than If I had just let her cry in the first place. She can't sleep in her pack n play in our room anymore because she wakes up if we shift at all in bed. I can't nurse her to sleep and put her in her crib because she wakes up the second her head touches the mattress. Her voice is raspy from crying each night but she's so much happier in the morning!!! I don't let her cry hardly at all in the daytime if I can help it. I just feel so awful and cry with her but I'm at my wits end. I know she can put herself to sleep, otherwise I wouldn't be trying this right now. I have watched her do it many times while in bed with us and before she went through sleep regression. I used to put her to bed wide awake with no problems and I miss it so much because she wasn't so upset! I just wish this was easier. 😭
