when was your first ultrasound?

I'm high risk and just found out I'm pregnant so I'm about 4 weeks. The doctor doesn't even want to see me until 10 weeks and then discuss an ultrasound appointment. When I was pregnant with my son (7years ago) they did an ultrasound at 8 weeks. Is this normal to wait so long especially considering I'm high risk?

I am very high risk and had scans at 6wks , 8wks 4days, 10wks, 12wks then weekly due to complications arising right up to today at 39wks. 10 wks is fine though

I had a previous history of miscarriage, so they did one at 6, 8, 10, 12 and now one today at 16!
You should call and ask if she's sure about waiting- being high risk you should have one sooner.

I don't know if they have anything like this where you live, but I went to this free clinic called Choices. I was supposed to be having surgery the following week, and my OB didn't want to see me until 10 weeks. So I really wanted to confirm my pregnancy before I cancelled my surgery. I went there and they did a urine test, and I told them my situation and they did an ultrasound. I thought I was 6 weeks, but all they could see was my uterine lining, which showed that I was pregnant. Anyway, just look into some kind of free clinic that does ultrasounds maybe? Or call your OB and explain your situation and see if she will see you sooner.

I am high risk also. I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks. I am now 20 weeks and have had 6 ultrasounds so far. 10 weeks does sound a bit long for a high risk pregnancy. Unless they aren't considering you high risk yet.
