bf babies- supplement at night?

Question

Does anyone whose baby is ebf, give a bottle before bed? My son is so tired before bed he will not nurse well, and then doesn't sleep well at night either.

Tonight I am giving him 4.5 oz of breastmilk before bed to see if it helps. Does anyone do this? How much do you give? Does it help with sleep?

My son is 5 months, 21 lbs 😳, 29 inches. Big boy!

I have a 15lb baby lol & she takes 7oz before bed at 11 and sleeps until 7ish

I do that with mine and he sleeps SO much better. I tried 5 oz and that wasn't enough. He sleeps well with 6-7. I know from what I read that's "too much" but that's what works for him at night! He was falling asleep so quickly when nursing. He is 17.3lb and 28" at his last appointment.

Yes I would definitely do it!! That's the only downfall with breastfeeding before bed! They get so sleepy they don't get a full feeding, with the bottle you can make sure they take a whole feeding! With my daughter if she falls asleep I tap the bottle and she'll continue eating! She sleeps 10+ hours every single night!

Yes, I started giving my breastfed son a bottle before bed for this same reason. He drinks 5 oz and sleeps sometimes up to 10 hours before needing a feeding. He usually only wakes once per night. 😅
