When should I announced to the world?

I am 4 weeks 6 days. I found out on Christmas we are pregnant. This is our first! And we are so excited we can not hold it in. We have told our parents and siblings. But we really want to announce to the world at midnight on New Years. 
My mom thinks we should wait until af5er 8 wk u/s and some sites say 12wks.

What do you ladies think?

I'm planning to wait until V-day. It's hard not telling ppl or being paranoid that 'they know.' For example, tonight we went out for sushi with friends and I just ordered a veggie roll and miso soup even though I usually get sashimi. One of our friends looked at me kinda funny after I ordered. It's hard keeping it a secret sometimes! We have family coming in from France this weekend and I feel like my mom might say something- she knows but I don't want other ppl knowing quite yet. Esp. Since my first Dr visit is on 1/11. I'll be 8 weeks :)

I was so tempted to tell at 5 weeks I'm now almost 9 and I'm so glad we're going to wait until 13-14 weeks AND have a beautiful ultrasound picture to go with it :-)

Honestly, it's your pregnancy and only you can  judge when to tell the world!   I think it's the fear of the unknown that makes most of us wait until 12 weeks to tell EVERYONE.  maybe compromise and make a mini announcement to some close friends.  Otherwise, shout it from the rooftops if you want to girl! ❤❤❤

I waited until 8 week ultrasound but my dr.suggested waiting until 12-14 weeks. I just know I can't keep it a secret anymore lol.  I know there is still a chance of miscarriage but I will want support from my friends and family if something happens so I am telling people.
