How necessary is a rocking chair/glider?

I plan on breastfeeding. Baby will be in our room first few months and if we did get a chair it would be in his room.. I feel like it would make things easier but my sis in law said its pointless because she never used hers..everyone's different but id like opinions.. Thanks.

I used mine every day for 6 months. The 3 am feeding when its just you and baby and not a peep was amazing(after the whole crackled nipple went away) even now if he gets up at night i use it (hes 11 months now) but i bought mine off a buy and sell site so it wouldnt be a waste had i bought new

I haven't had my baby yet but I sit in his room on the rocker/glider and read, I can't wait to feed him in that chair. My dogs sit by the chair with me.

My parents just got USA glider for Christmas. I plan on using it when feeding mainly in the night so that my baby can fall back asleep in the same peaceful environment instead of taking him or her somewhere else in the house and getting him or her distracted. I also believe reading is really good for kids at all ages and plan to read to my baby every night in that chair.

We don't use ours a "ton" but when munchkin is fussy it always does the trick! I think it's worth having, just don't but a super expensive one.

Once ours is sleeping in his own room we will read in the glider every night before bed. I was a nanny of two very young children for 3 years and I would always rock the baby to sleep, I loved it. Also, I got mine for free from my mother in law that it helps not spending $600. Look for classifieds or something.

I didn't get one for 2 reasons. First, because my feet can't reach the floor or ottoman without me being slouched down in the rocker so it isn't comfy. Second, because there is no room for one. Everyone said I should get one, but I knew I wouldn't use it.

I INSISTED on a rocking chair/glider.  My mom and sister both argue that it is a waste, but I LOVE it.  I hated feeding my nephew in a chair or in bed...  it hurt my back and I would become so uncomfortable. 
 
Plus, I can use the glider afterwards as a comfy chair and reading chair 😜

I would have loved a glider but we didn't have the space for it, we got by without one just fine.
