Epidural pain years later??? ladies??

So I had an epidural about 3 years ago when I had my little boy. It didn't actually work as pain relief and didn't make anything go numb. (I have no idea why it just didn't take to my body) but obviously I still had the needle set up in my back etc. Lately I've noticed around about the area it will have been inserted feels as if it's bruised (it isn't I've checked) and slightly painful, does anyone else have this??
