Mom kissed my daughter with a cold sore.
My 5yo daughter has a burn on her lip because she bit into a biscuit wrapped cocktail sausage straight out of the oven after it told her no its hot it's not large but is there. My mother came over and said "oh you have a cold sore right where I do" I promptly told her no its not a cold sore it's a burn shortly after this she kissed my daughter right on the lips. Both of them have scabs. I've had them before (it's been years) and so has my husband (he never kisses any of us while he has one) I'm concerned that since my daughter has an open blister she'll be more at risk. Mom also kissed my 7 yo (attempted cheek and she jerked because she knows to not take kisses when someone has a sore) mom kissed her eye. I washed their faces with soap immediately. I'm nervous about them catching it now because I'm pregnant and kids aren't very careful about hygiene if they catch it my baby could in the future. The risk to a newborn gives me terrible anxiety. This is more of a rant than anything. Mom should know better but I believe that is how I got it myself as a child. Am I overreacting?
