I was thinking to buy a laser hair remover. Few questions needs to be asked
1. Who has done it?
2. Does it really permanently remove the hair and not grow back?
3. Is it painful or painless?
4. Whats the best brand to buy the product?
5. Should i use vaseline before and after the product?

I would definitely recommend going to a skin clinic and having a qualified professional do it for you. When it is not done properly you can do serious harm

Doesn't permanently remove. Lessens & thins. Burns. Smells burnt. & I go to a Derm for my lhr. I can't imagine in home treatments.

I think the home ones are great for touch ups after having had professional treatments. I don't think home lasers are powerful enough to get professional lasting results. They do work to lessen/thin the hair. I've done my husband's back with the home laser a few times. It definitely came back thinner. I've had both professional treatments and used the home laser for touch ups. I recommend professional treatments. They were worth it for me. It's most effective with light skin and dark hair. It will not work on blonde or gray hair as the laser targets the pigment in the hair to work.

I bought the home one and it did not work for me at all. I ended up using my tax return a few years ago and bought a great package deal at a laser hair removal place. Best decision I've ever made. The hair didn't even grow back when I was pregnant.

I'm an esthetician and I've had laser hair removal done :) The lasers are dependent, usually, on several factors such as skin color, hair color and how course or thing your body hair is. Light skin/dark hair being the optimum. Red/gray hair doesn't register with lasers and blonde is pretty much the same way.  Everyone is different when it comes to sensitivity. Sometimes it hurts...sometimes not. Depends. My hair has substantially slowed down in growing back but..I don't grow much hair on my legs and underarms anyway but I can tell you I only have to do a quick pass under my arms with a razor once every two-three months and probably shave my legs two-three times a year. Again, that's dependent on your hair type. My hair was thin in diameter and quite sparse on my legs and underarms prior to LHR. I recommend 4-6 treatments...really 6 treatments to get the best results at 6 week increments and I would go to a professional in your area. Laser burns can happen quickly and are painful!!!! :D Good luck!!!
