Epidural or natural?

I'm just curious who got the epidural, and who didn't, and what everyone would recommend. I want to try natural as I've read a lot of bad things about the epidural however I'm a baby when it comes to pain. Any advice is welcome!

I had a natural birth. I refused to get an epidural mainly on the sole basis that I'm stubborn as hell to prove I could do it without it.

I had my baby girl 11days ago. Since the first day I found out I was pregnant I kept on telling ppl I wasn't going to get an epi. Shiiiiiii I caved in the first hr n than had to wait 45min for them to order it.

You will not be able to make that decision until the time comes. You can plan not to have one and then realize you want one once labor begins or vice versa. Everyone's labor is different and everyone's pain tolerance is different.

I plan to try unmediated but when I ask and CONFIRM, I want it given to me.  It can take a while to be delivered though.
 
Same with vaginal vs c-section.  If my doctor says for medical reasons I need an emergency c-section and there is no way around it, then in I go.
 
I hope to have a natural vaginal birth with no medication, but we shall see.

I'm planning to get the epidural as I can't tolerate pain at all. I've said if I can go without the epidural then I will but I know I'll most likely be getting it. I've heard bad things about it too but I've also heard good, can't let the bad stories put you off because it's different for everyone. Just gotta pray everything goes smoothly and go for whatever u think is best for you

I got an epidural after 52 hours of labor, I regret it so much! I had to be restrained to a bed with back labor to keep Bub monitored and I could not cope anymore. If I had known I could refuse and continue walking around I wouldn't have needed it, I still have horrible back pain 8 months later. In saying that I pushed Bub out with no tears or interventions and no effects to the baby only to me

I plan to go all natural because epidurals have a higher risk of leading to interventions such as forceps or vaccum, you have to get a catheter and you cannot get up and walk or even get out of the bed.  If I can't go all natural I will use Demerol and hopefully my baby won't be too sleepy to nurse.

not worth the back pain i literally gave birth an hour later but i was induced. so hopefully in july my baby isnt so stubborn. i literally dont care how much pain im in im not putting my self through more back pain. i feel so uncomfortable all the time and its unbearble.

It's a great idea to educate yourself on all the medication options available to you. My goal with my first was to go naturally. Not bc I thought I was super women. But bc recover time is way better without an epidural and I like the benefits of everything better. BUT from day one I talked with my dr about what I would hope to happen and was completely okay with the fact that I really had no idea what labour would be like for me and how I would handle it. My hubby knew if I wanted an epidural I was getting one, but the other medication available I wasn't comfortable with and did want. 
I was able to have a natural birth. But to be honest my trasition labour was only a few hours long and so for me I was able to do it. Those women who are in trasition labour for hours and hours on end and go natural deserve a gold medal. Lol

Ultimately your not going to know until you start going through it. It's good to have a plan and be educated but with the understanding labour may change everything you once thought.  Be flexible in your plan is my best advice.

With my first I got an epidural which relaxed me and I dilated faster. However I couldn't "feel the push" and baby wasn't coming out so they turned it off. With my second child I did it natural and baby came out faster.
