ParaGard and acne?

So up until oct 31 I had been on NuvaRing for about two or three years. I had acne in high school but it had seemed to have cleared up while I was in college. Now I've noticed the past few months my acne breakouts have been more intense and more frequent. I'm also breaking out on my neck, where I almost never broke out before. Was my NuvaRing keeping my acne under control? ParaGard is nonhormonal and the obgyn recommended it over skyla and mirena because it didn't have hormones that would break me out. But now I'm thinking those hormones were what was helping my skin.
